My Passion is painting landscapes of the west, incorporating bright bold colors. Not thin anemic colors, but of the beautiful reds, oranges, yellows and bright blues.  I also find great delight exploring my own backyard, the redwoods, mountains, ocean, clouds and the crazy weather of the Crescent City area.

After visiting Monet’s gardens this year, I found Monet brought to life in paint the world of color and light through the romantic forms of flowers, plants and water.

I also had a chance this spring to visit the town that van Gogh’s was laid to rest, after visiting the room that he created in his famous painting and walking thru the town you couldn’t help but feel in awe of this great master.

Studying under the artist Tom Lynch with watercolors, has taught me the freedom of using this medium in the most expressive way.

On a painting field trip with the artist Greg Kondos to the Grand Canyon, it unlocked my love for the Southwest. As a landscape painter, using acrylic and watercolor, I am lost in the beauty of it all.
